The week twenty (20) of the ‘English Premier League’ saw a real twist at the top of the table as Arsenal and Liverpool failed to pick up victories in their respective games with Tottenham beating Chelsea to end the league leaders unbeaten run.
The week began on Monday with Middlesbrough hosting Leicester City at the Riverside Stadium as both sides shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
Everton welcomed Southampton to the Goodison Park with the Merseyside club picking up an impressive 3-0 win to hand the Saints their third straight defeat. Romelu Lukaku, Leighton Baines and Ener Valencia with the goals for Everton.
Manchester City were up against an inferior Burnley but were made to work hard for the victory as they picked up a 2-1 victory over Sean Dyche's boys. City midfielder, Fernandinho with a red card in the first half to ensure Pep Guardiola's boys would play close to an hour of football with 10-men.
Sunderland were up against second-placed Liverpool with the Merseyside club looking to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea but a defiant Sunderland side ensured the Reds would share the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Jermaine Defoe with a brace for the black cats.
In-form West Bromwich Albion were up against Hull City with the Baggies looking to compound the misery on Mike Phelan's side and duly delivered with a 3-1 win over the Tigers.
West ham United hosted an in-form Manchester United and were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat from Jose Mourinho's side. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata with the goals for United.
On Tuesday, Bournemouth and Arsenal locked horns at the Vitality Stadium with both sides sharing the spoils in an epic encounter that saw Arsenal come back from a three-goal deficit to play out a 3-3 draw.
Crystal Palace were expected to pick up an easy win over a struggling Swansea side but were undone by a fighting Swans who left Selhurst Park with a 2-1 victory to lift them off the bottom position.
Stoke City had been really inconsistent in the league this season but not as inconsistent as their opponent, Watford who were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat from the Potters.
On Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspurs were involved in a heavyweight contest with league leaders, Chelsea and were absolutely fantastic against the Blues as they picked up a 2-0 victory. Bamidele Alli with a brace for Spurs to end the Blues unbeaten run.
